A cameo on Portlandia

Now that the Portlandia hype is simmering down a little, we’re settling into watching the show like normal people (ie, on-demand or via youtube clips). A few episodes ago, our Riding Jacket made a cameo alongside another Pacific Northwest classic, Kyle MacLachlan, who plays Portland’s yoga ball-bouncing mayor.

So far, they’ve poked fun at Stumptown’s bike culture, ad agencies, book stores, locavores and adult night clubs, to name a few. Now IFC is giving them a second season, proving that Portland humor has national appeal. Which Portland stereotypes do you think they still need to tackle?

As the proud new owner of a Shroud of Purrin blazer (the warehouse sale rocks!) I have to say, the blazer is so Portland. My son has been coveting the Riding Jacket for over a year, and his desires we’re alos fulfilled. Nau, of course, is ripe for Portlandia-style spoofing; you should be proud.

I just ordered a burrito that was called “the portlandia” and the ingredients were sausage from a local farm, kale, mashed potatoes, tillamook cheddar, and caramelized onions. I didn’t get why it was so portland-ish but it tasted good.

@EF: Because it was local. LOCAL.

When I was living Oregon, I wore my Birkenstock and Sanita clogs everywhere. When I moved to Atlanta, people ask me what kind of shoes they are.

BTW, nau rocks. I have 10 pieces from nau for different seasons and love them on the trail or traveling on the road.
