FIVE WAYS TO REDUCE YOUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT THIS HOLIDAY SEASON:
1. Wrap your gifts in reusable cloth grocery bags instead of wrapping paper.
2. Rent a Living Christmas Tree.
3. Copy the tree at Rockafeller Center and use LED Christmas lights.
4. Adopt an acre of a Costa Rican rain forest for a gift.
5. Offset your holiday travel by purchasing Green Tags, or give Green Tags as a gift for loved ones coming to see you for the holidays.

I like the idea. I would suggest putting on the bag what you do wish to see. A message like, “Please start using cloth bags!” This may appear like a nonessential point but consider this, that the mind translates images into reality. By taking it a step further, and stating what you do want..this is more impressive. It impresses the positive outcomes you wish upon others. As opposed to resisting what you dont want..which brings up some negativity against all the plastic bag people, competition for their usage etc, and quite frankly perpetuates things.
Perhaps this is the road less traveled. But it is highly effective.

I couldn’t agree more. Do you think “start using cloth bags!” is as perpetuating as the alternate message? Are we less, more or equally as likely to respond to the positive mssage than the negative one?
