I have started two companies that give a percentage of their revenues to charity. www.darmik.com and www.adelph.us .

Darmik is a distribution and ecommerce platform that gives artist, as well as content and product owners the ability to sell their items anywhere on the Internet.

Darmik is derived from one of the names of the Hindu deity Ganessha. Dharmik is one who actively gives to charity.

Currently on Darmik Artist, as well as digital item and real world product owners receive 100% of the revenue from the sale of their digital content. The only thing we ask is that each Darmik seller give a portion of their revenue to at least one registerd Darmik charity or non profit. It is our hope that Artist and digital content owners will choose to make a difference by using Darmik's pay rules to give a percentage of their revenue to registered Darmik non profits and charities. In addition to donations to charities and non profits from Darmik digital item sellers, Darmik will give a portion of its advertising revenue to charity.

Using Darmik digital content owners and artist can sell their items on darmik, as well as any web-page or social network. Digital content owners can give other darmik members permission to resell their digital items and reward then with a percentage of the sales revenue.

Darmik members that do not own digital content can create stores and inventory list that contain digital items that the owners have given approval for resell. In addition to this Darmik supports transaction as low as 1 penny.

Darmik was designed to create multiple distribution channels so that artist and digital content owners could sell their items in as many places as possible. This also gives the possibility for many truncations that will generate revenue for charities and non profits.

Currently you will need a Google checkout account to make purchases using Darmik.

Adelph.us is a social network for artist, content owners and fans that want to make a difference. Adelph.us always gives a portion of its advertising revenue to charity. Artist and content owners that are members of darmik can create darmik shops in their profiles. This gives them the ability to sell and distribute their music on a social network that gives back.
