<description>This might be common knowledge to most people tapped into sustainability issues, but the US headquater for the largest manufacturer of wind turbines in the world is located here in Portland. It&#039;s a Danish company by the name Vestas. Here&#039;s a link to their website discussing wind power and sustainability http://www.vestas.com/vestas/global/en/Sustainability/sustainability/.
On my windsurfing excursions in the Gorge last summer, I frequently saw trucks carrying towers and turbines to be installed in Eastern Oregon. PGE own and operates the sites. Soon we should be able to purchase electricity produced by wind turbines.
